The spread of electronic devices such as smartphones, computer and
tablets has multiplied the number of potential near working distances for
a presbyope. Unlike in the past, when there was only a standard distance
between the eyes and the book, nowadays, there are instead multiple distances in the
range between 40cm and 70cm depending on the device.

optimize the lens and increase the perceived vision field (in depth and width) for all
distances resulting, as well, in expanded volume for the progressive lens wearer. Unlike
